Touchet Booster Club 2010-2011 Activities
Beginning in 2009, the Touchet Booster Club has operated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and encouraging Touchet High School (THS) athletics and our community to build school pride. A solid foundation of support and caring community participation continued over the past year, resulting in a total of 93 members joining the Touchet Booster Club during the 2010-2011 membership drive. The Touchet Booster Club maintains a website at www.touchetboosters.com and a Facebook page. During the 2010-2011 school year, Booster Club activities in support of Touchet High School athletics included:
· Purchased equipment and team gear in support of THS athletic teams, including:
o Football equipment bags
o Basketball warm-ups and scrimmage shirts
o Weight-room lifting equipment
o Softball pitching machine
Paid sports camp scholarships totaling $1,450, sponsoring 20 THS athletes to attend summer skills camps for basketball, cheer, volleyball, football and softball
· Sponsored the 2010 Alumni Basketball Game, with 32 community members participating
· Hosted the THS Fall Sports Awards, Winter Sports Awards and Spring Sports Awards to honor our coaches, athletes and parents
· Provided traveling team meals and refreshments for Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball and Softball
· Sponsored the purchase of JV Sports awards and trophies
· Participated in the Homecoming Parade and May Day events, including a float, dunk tank and community kickball game
· Sponsored 2011 Basketball District Tournament programs supporting THS teams
· Volunteered at home-field athletic events, running chains for football and on-court for volleyball
· Supported the Touchet Education Foundation Oktoberfiesta fundraiser
· Developed plans and allocated funds for improvements to the THS softball dug-outs
· Sponsored fundraising events for all sports:
Touchet Booster Club t-shirt sales in support of Touchet Athletics
o Half-hog raffle for general fundraising
o Basketball Free-throw-a-thon fundraiser
o Softball team barbecue fundraiser
o Cheerleader breakfast fundraiser
o Maintained business relationships through sponsor signs in gymnasium
o Super-Boosters sponsorship of free-throws and 3-pt shots in Basketball
o Super-Boosters sponsorship of runs in baseball and softball
The 2011-2012 season promises to be full of exciting Touchet athletic events, so please plan to support school teams by attending games and joining the Touchet Booster Club. Membership dues are $10 per person, with information available online at www.touchetboosters.com.
