VOLLEYBALL 2011

Oct 25th and 27th

The Lady Indians ended their season this week with a pair of losses to Tekoa in 3 games on Tuesday, and Liberty-Christian in 4 games on Thursday.  This season has been tough on the girls, but they always kept their chins up and played tough every game.  They ended the season with a 0-14 record.  As the Pomeroy coach said in the local paper,  "That's a pretty good team with no wins. I'm not positive what their record is, but it's deceiving."  Tuesday was Senior Night with the team honoring their 2 seniors, Nicole Brown and Veronica Solis.  They will be missed next year, Nicole with her hustle, and Veronica with her constant consistency at the serving line.

Oct 18th and 20th

The struggles continue for the Lady Indians as they drop a pair of matches this week.  Tuesday Gar-Pal came to town and and won in 3 games Then on Thursday, the girls traveled to Pomeroy and played really well there, but still came home with the loss in 3 games.  The Ladies have two games left in their season. On Tuesday, Tekoa comes to town and then on Thursday, Touchet travels to Liberty Christian in Richland.

Oct 11th and 13th

The Lady Indians had another tough week as they fell to Colton in 3 games, and on Thursday lost to Lacrosse-Washtucna in 4 games.  The girls are much better than their 0-11 record indicates.  Next week the Ladies host Gar-Pal on Tuesday, Oct 18th, and then travel to Pomeroy on Thursday the 20th.  Games start at 5.00 pm.

Oct 4th

The Lady Indians hosted Rosalia in the first of two games this Homecoming week.  The Girls came out guns a-blazing, by taking the first game in dominate style, but fell in game 2.  Turned it around and took game 3 in a nail biter, but dropped game 4 and the final game 5.  They have another chance this week to get in the win column by hosting St. John on Thursday, Oct 6th.  game time is 6.00 pm.

Sept 29th

The Ladies traveled to Tekoa for the league match today, and came home with the 3 set loss.  Tekoa was the toughest team the girls have faced yet, and they played them pretty close.  The Ladies have two home games next week, Homecoming week, with a match against Rosalia on Tuesday, Oct 4th, and a match against St. John on Thursday, Oct 6th.

Sept 27th

The Girls hosted Pomeroy tonight, and came out "volleyballs to the wall" by taking the first game in dominate style.  Then the girls dropped game 2 and 3.  They  roared back to take game 4, but ended up dropping the 5th game of the match for their 6 straight defeat.  Touchet takes on Tekoa on their home court Thursday Sept 29th.

Sept 22nd

The Lady Indians have had a tough season so far.  They have dropped 4 straight matches against St. John, Colton, Lacrosse, and Gar-Pal.  Though the games have been close and Touchet has played each opponent tough.  So far the Ladies have a record of 0-5.  They have a home game against Pomeroy on Tuesday, Sept 27th, and they take the lonnnngggg trip to Tekoa on Thursday Sept 29th.  The team is loaded with talent, so I don't suspect the goose egg will last long in the win column.  Go Girls!!!!

Sept 10th

The Lady Indians played in the annual Waitsburg-Prescott Volleyball tournament at WWCC today, and came away with a 2-2 record.  Touchet logged victories against Waitsburg and Lacrosse, but fell to St. John and Wa-Hi Jv.  The Girls travel to St. John on Tues, Sept 13.

SEPT 7TH

The Volleyball team opened the 2011 campaign with the long trip to Rosalia.  But it didn't end up as Touchet fans would have liked. The Lady Indians fell in 3 straight games.  The girls play in the WWCC tournament on Saturday, Sept 10th starting at 9.00 am at the Dietrich Dome.
